Feel Good Tips

Understanding your feelings and emotions and finding ways to better mental health.

What am I feeling?

Things are not happening the way you would like them to. People are not understanding you. Everything is getting on your nerves. These negative feelings build up and you become angry. Being angry is okay, but its important to control our actions when we feel this way.

Feel Good Tips

  • Taking deep breaths, helps us to calm down.
  • Write it down. Write about why you are feeling angry – this can help you to feel calm when you can’t talk about it.
  • Talk to someone you can trust. Talking about your feelings is a good way to feel relaxed.

What am I feeling?

You feel strong. You feel proud of who you are and what you can do. You believe in yourself. This is called feeling confident.

Feel Good Tips

  • Find something you love about yourself. It can be how you look or a skill you have. Doing this will make you feel more positive.
  • Learn new skills or find a new hobby. Trying new things allows us to get better and can make you feel more confident.
  • Try to eat healthier food. What we eat can affect how we feel. Eating good, fresh food will make you feel energetic and boost your confidence.

What am I feeling?

Different things in life can make us feel unhappy or sad. You may miss home or your friends. It’s normal for us to feel this way.

Feel Good Tips

  • Talk to a friend or an adult you trust. If you don’t feel like you can do this face to face, then you can talk to someone online, through an official website for young people.
  • Get involved in things you enjoy or try something new like playing a sport, listening to music or doing something creative.
  • Eat healthy food. Eating and drinking sugary foods can make your feelings and emotions go up and down. Fresh food can help you feel better.

What am I feeling?

People do not understand why I talk differently, or dress differently. They do not understand that I feel different to them.

Feel Good Tips

  • It is okay to be different! Be true to who you are!
  • People fear what they are not used to, it is not you!
  • If everyone were the same, life would be very boring.

What am I feeling?

When we find ourselves unable to solve a problem or we are unable to control what is going on round us, it’s normal to be worried or stressed. Sometimes these emotions can lead to another feeling called Anxiety.

Feel Good Tips

  • Try to relax by taking slow breaths in and out through your nose until you feel calm again.
  • Take a time out. If you can, take a few minutes outside or find somewhere quiet. This can help you think clearly and calm your emotions.
  • Ask for help. You are not alone, there are people out there who can help you with your thoughts.

What am I feeling?

You may have people all around you, but it feels like you are on your own. You feel that nobody understands you. This can make us feel sad and lonely.

Feel Good Tips

  • Join a youth club or an after-school club. Find a place where you can share your hobbies.
  • It is okay to not make friends straight away. Stay positive and be yourself!
  • It is okay if you can’t speak English well. Take your time, use your body language and make eye contact to show you are listening.
