PYF has worked closely with McDonald’s since 2012 when we began a partnership with franchisee John Kiely MBE. John offered job interviews for young people we supported in our mentoring programmes and since then over 20 young people have worked in his restaurants in Coventry.
PYF is also grateful to BBC Children in Need which supports our Next Steps and Million and Me programmes, allowing us to work with young people in Coventry, including refugees arriving under government resettlement schemes.
Because of our strong connections with McDonald’s and BBC Children in Need we were pleased to help with filming to launch their new funding partnership supporting youth work in the UK.
Filming for the McDonald’s/ BBC Children in Need advertisement took place in Coventry in early September and featured staff from our Involved and Positive Futures strands. Video and still footage of our youth centre was taken by by PYF’s brilliant young videographer Mohsin Al Harbi.
Please note: All young people in the footage have parental approval to participate in the filming. Video and still images used in the advertisement were taken at sessions in 2020 and 2021. We followed the relevant Covid-19 social distancing restrictions in place at the time.
