Coventry celebrate 20 years of Refugee Week

Positive Youth Foundation worked with partners across the city to offer a whole weeks’ worth of celebration events open for all of Coventry’s residents.

At just one of the venues in the week we saw over 600 attendances at Fargo Village at special Refugee Week events, with over 50 volunteers supporting and over 30 hours of provision. We also played a part in the wider Refugee Week celebrations at Fulham FC at the National Refugee Tournament with both of our Under 16 and Under 19 teams leaving on a high!

The hope is that through the success of partnership working and the sheer enjoyment of communities throughout, Coventry Refugee Week can be cemented into the future of the city, building year on year. The whole event was used as a pilot for the city and a researcher from Coventry University will support us in evaluating the week. Keep close to our updates and full case study of Coventry Refugee Week!
